Over sixty L.A. fashion bloggers got first look at three new contemporary lines launching for Spring 2014 at the start of L.A. Fashion Week, at Emblem Showroom’s “First Glimpse” Bloggers-Only event on October 10. Hosted by Founder and Creator of “Blogger Babes” blogger association, Heidi Nazarudin, the event featured a two-hour fashion installation on live models presenting five to eight looks from new designers debuting at L.A. Fashion Week: Yoze, Idea Minerva, and Love, Gia. The event also previewed Spring 2014 collections from three additional designers – Rachel Sin, Jaleh, and Sacred Heart Collections – as well as the new jewelry collections “Rebus” and “Zodiac” by Micha Designs. Guests sampled rose sangria and small bites from award-winning tapas restaurant, Bacaro.

Bloggers were treated to a sneak preview of Yoze, two days before its runway debut at Concept L.A. on October 12. Titled after the middle name of its founder, Davin Enoyoze Odia, and designed by Creative Director and celebrity couture designer Miguel Rodriguez, Yoze showed its design mastery in the innovative, body-hugging designs that blended futuristic lines with digital prints. Structured dresses and jackets in a palette of gold, lavender, and white, with bright touches of neon yellow, magenta, and teal, featured the neo-baroque digital designs of L.A. Artist J.T. Burke.
L.A. designer Love, Gia capitalized on two key trends, leather and lace, for its Spring 2014 debut collection, presenting day-into-night styles to fit all social occasions, from daytime luncheons to night-time clubbing. Lace dresses with a vintage flair, lace shorts with bustiers, and playfully flirty leather and lace hoodie rompers were transformed through removable accessories.
Idea Minerva, created by well-travelled Italian designer Lara Antonioli, debuted its first collection with day-into-night asymmetric dresses and tops in bright colors that are at home on the beach, or at a cocktail party.
With its mix of rock-and-roll glam and classic elegance, Sacred Heart Collections presented best-selling holiday looks and Spring 2014 styles, featuring dresses and pant-suits in brights, metallic, and sequins. Rachel Sin presented its signature looks for 2014, with a well-honed mix of body-hugging, structured ponte dresses and pant-suits, and draped jersey dresses. Seattle Designer Jaleh presented live-work-play dresses and separates with clean lines and subtle details, in bright solids, with touches of gold metallics.
The bloggers attending this event were the first ones to see these new designers and collections, before anyone else…Wheareas most traditional and print media have a much longer lead time, fashion blogs have a nearly instant ability to react, and they can be a leader in presenting the latest in fashion.
The ‘First Glimpse’ Bloggers-Only event is the first of many future events exclusively open to fashion bloggers, where they get a first look at new collections and designers. Information on future “First Glimpse” events and on the designers featured on October 10 is available at www.emblemshowroom.com.
